Astrologer’s Decade-Old Forecast About Ravichandran Ashwin Stuns Fans After Retirement Announcement

Ravichandran Ashwin, one of India’s greatest spin all-rounders, announced his international retirement following the conclusion of the Brisbane Test in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy.

The cricketing fraternity hailed his illustrious career, spanning over a decade. However, an astrologer’s eerily accurate prediction about Ashwin, made in 2011, has taken social media by storm.

Astrologer s Decade-Old Forecast About Ravichandran Ashwin Stuns Fans After Retirement Announcement

Astrologer Greenstone Lobo, who writes predictions for various publications, had penned a forecast over a decade ago, predicting Ashwin’s evolution as an all-rounder and his ascent to surpass Harbhajan Singh’s tally of 417 Test wickets while falling short of Anil Kumble’s 619.

Both assertions have now been proven true, with Ashwin retiring with 537 Test wickets and six Test centuries to his name.

What Did the Astrologer Predict About Ravichandran Ashwin?

Lobo’s 2011 newspaper column was very specific with its claims. “Ashwin will become the best spin all-rounder of all time,” it read. “He will surpass Harbhajan's 417 Test wickets but may fall short of Kumble's 619. Expect him to score a few more Test centuries as well.”

The astrologer also mentioned Ashwin’s strong planetary alignments – Uranus, Planet-X, and Planet-Z in exaltation – highlighting his unique capabilities. He further speculated about Ashwin’s leadership potential, suggesting that he might captain an IPL team or even India during a transitional phase.

R Ashwin’s Stellar Legacy

Ashwin’s career numbers reflect his dominance across formats. He bagged 537 wickets in 106 Test matches at an average of 24.00, including 25 four-wicket hauls, 37 five-wicket hauls, and eight ten-wicket match hauls. With the bat, he scored 3,503 Test runs at an average of 25.75, including six centuries and 14 fifties.

In limited-overs cricket, Ashwin picked up 156 wickets in 116 ODIs and 72 wickets in 65 T20Is. He was instrumental in India’s triumphs at the 2011 World Cup and 2013 Champions Trophy.

Though retired from international cricket, Ashwin remains active in the IPL, where he will represent the Chennai Super Kings in 2025. Speculation also surrounds his future off the field, with many expecting him to transition into commentary or expand his YouTube presence, which already boasts a significant following.
