AUS vs NZ: Rachin Ravindra on Saturday slammed his second World Cup 2023 hundred to break an elusive feat held by Sachin Tendulkar, Abdullah Shafique, Nicholas Pooran and Paul Stirling. Tendulkar and the three batters had scored a century each at age 23 while chasing at the World Cups.
Coming to bat at number three in the absence of Kane Williamson, Ravindra scored 116 runs off just 89 balls. The innings at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala consisted of nine fours and five sixes. New Zealand were chasing a mammoth 389-run target in the match.

Rachin Ravindra is the only batter who has two World Cup hundreds in chase at age 23. The southpaw is the only batter alongside Tendulkar to hit two World Cup hundreds at the age of 23.
Rachin Ravindra's father - an ardent cricket fan - named his son after his two favourite cricketers Rahul Dravid and Sachin Tendulkar. The 'Ra' in Rachin comes from 'Rahul' and 'Chin' comes from 'Sachin'. Notably, Dravid picked four innings to hit World Cup hundreds. Ravindra has taken six.
The emerging New Zealand star has made all the right noise since the start of the World Cup 2023. He smashed a hundred on his World Cup debut against England. He scored unbeaten 126 runs off 96 balls and was adjudged Man of the Match.
The Wellington-born cricketer has since then registered scores of 51, 9, 32, 75 and 116. The 75-run innings came against India in Dharamsala on Sunday.
Rachin Ravindra has now scored 406 runs in six matches at an average of 81.20. He is only the third batter to breach the 400-run mark in the ongoing ICC marquee event. He overtook Virat Kohli and Aiden Markram in list of World Cup 2023 highest run-scorers.
Also, he now stands fourth on the list of batters to score most runs in an ODI World Cup before age 24. Sachin Tendulkar scored 806 runs in the ODI World Cup before turning 24. Rickey Ponting and Babar Azam are second and third on the list with 583 and 474 runs respectively.
