Glenn Maxwell failed to impress ahead of the IPL Mega Auction 2025 as the Australian all-rounder fell for the third time in a row to Pakistan pacer Haris Rauf during the 3rd ODI at the Perth Stadium in Perth on Sunday (November 10).
Released by Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) after a disappointing season earlier this year, Maxwell was hoping to impress his potential suitors in the next edition of IPL. But, Haris Rauf has made him his bunny this series, removing him for a duck twice in three matches.

Maxwell edged one off Rauf to wicketkeeper Mohammad Rizwan in the series opener earlier in the week at MCG as he walked back for a golden duck. Fortunately for Australia, Pat Cummins ensured there was no upset in the run chase of 204.
A few days later, the all-rounder, who has a reputation to play some unothordox strokes, was cleaned by Rauf for 16 as Australia posted just 163 and eventually ended up losing the match by 9 wickets.
Again on Sunday (November 10), Rauf had the 36-year-old middle-order batter departed without troubling the scorers as he held out to Saim Ayub at point. Rauf has troubled Maxwell and most of the Australian batters on this tour as he took his wickets tally to 10.
Australia were left reeling at 112 for 6 in 26 overs with Conor Connolly also forced to leave the field with a suspected broken hand after suffering a blow at the Optus Stadium, which hosts the India vs Australia 1st Test in under two weeks' time.
Maxwell is expected to be one of the big attractions in terms of overseas players at the IPL Mega Auction 2025, which is scheduled to be held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on November 24 and 25.
The Australian all-rounder has made big bucks whenever he has entered the auction, going up to Rs Rs 14.25 Crore in the 2021 IPL Auction when he first joined RCB, who later retained him for three seasons at Rs 11 Crore.
The Royal Challengers Bengaluru, however, decided to part ways with the big-hitting Aussie, opting to retain only Virat Kohli, Rajat Patidar and Yash Dayal before the auction as it leaves them a bigger person and three Right to Match cards.
RCB could use one of the RTM cards to buy back Maxwell, but this run of disappointing performance may put them and all the other suitors off. However, the senior all-rounder will hope to turn things around in the upcoming three-match T20I series, which takes place just a few days before the auction.
