World Cup 2023: Usama Mir drops a sitter and leaves Pakistan in tatters - Watch

Pakistan have made a dismal against Australia in their ICC World Cup 2023 match on Friday. After electing to field, the Pakistan team have struggled with the ball and has been punished so far that by the Australian Openers.

Both David Warner and Mitchell Marsh have massacred the Pakistani bowlers. But in one case, there was a huge chance for Pakistan to get a wicket, which was squandered by the incoming player Usama Mir.

Usama Mir

David Warner tried to pull one off Shaheen Afridi but could only manage a top edge in it. The ball flew high and Usama Mir was underneath it. It was so easy as almost all Pakistan players were ready to celebrate, but Alas! their hopes were shattered as Usama couldn't pluck it from the air.

In fact, the Pakistani player couldn't even get any hands to it as the ball wriggled in between his grasp. Shaheen Afridi was distraught while Babar Azam and others were in disbelief.

The crowd in Bengaluru couldn't believe it as well, and Usama Mir was in tatters. And so far, his drop catch has hurt Pakistan big time.

Both Warner and Marsh are at the crease and have continued their punishment on the hapless Pakistani bowlers. At the time of writing, the Aussies are 149 for no loss after 20 overs and heading towards a mammoth score. Warner is unbeaten on 75 off 65 balls and has hit 5 fours and 5 sixes.

It can be a massive blow for Pakistan as Warner's misopportunity may haunt them in this match. Pakistan, having already lost against India, know the importance of the Australia clash and a defeat will have damaging ramifications in their semifinal hopes.
