AUS vs SA: David Miller's record hundred rescues South Africa from 24/4 as Irfan Pathan, fans salute southpaw

AUS vs SA: Middle-order batter David Miller on Thursday created history by becoming the first South Africa batter to score a hundred in a knockout match of the ODI World Cup. The record hundred also saved South Africa from the blushes.

After winning the toss and opting to bat first in overcast conditions at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, South Africa were reduced to 24/4 in 11.5 overs. Miller then forged a 95-run partnership with Heinrich Klaasen (47) to take South Africa past hundred without any further loss.

Travis Head struck for the second consecutive time to dismiss Marco Jansen for a golden duck and leave South Africa reeling at 119/6. However, Miller continued piling up runs from one end.
