Australia have finalized its playing XI for the fourth Test of the Border-Gavaskar Trophy, starting Thursday at the Melbourne Cricket Ground. The hosts have handed a debut to 19-year-old Sam Konstas while confirming the return of in-form batter Travis Head, who has been declared fully fit aafter a groin injury scare.
Travis Head's availability was under doubt after he sustained a quad strain during the third Test in Brisbane. However, on Christmas Day, the left-hander underwent a rigorous fitness assessment, which included running drills and a brief net session. Skipper Pat Cummins expressed confidence in Head's readiness.

"Trav's good to go; he'll play," Cummins told reporters. "He just kicked off some final things today and yesterday. There's no injury concern with Trav. He'll go into the game fully fit."
Head has been the standout batter in the series, amassing 409 runs at an average of 81.80, including two centuries. Despite the minor injury concern, Cummins hinted at minimal management for Head during the match, barring fielding adjustments if discomfort arises.
The Boxing Day Test will witness a historic debut for Sam Konstas, who replaces Nathan McSweeney at the top of the order. At 19, Konstas is set to become the youngest Australian Test opener and the youngest Test debutant since Pat Cummins in 2011.
Konstas has been in scintillating form, impressing across formats in recent months. His 57 off 26 balls in the Big Bash League and a century in a pink-ball warm-up match against India underline his aggressive intent and adaptability.
"He's an exciting talent," Cummins said of Konstas. "We're hopeful he and Usman (Khawaja) can set a solid foundation for us at the top."
In another change, Scott Boland returns to the lineup, replacing the injured Josh Hazlewood. The rest of the squad remains unchanged as Australia look to take the lead in the series, currently tied at 1-1.
