Sean Abbott named as replacement for injured Spencer Johnson in Australia's T20I squad for the upcoming tour to the United Kingdom, where they will face Scotland in 3 T20Is before travelling to England for 3 T20Is.
Left-arm pacer Johnson was ruled out of the tour to UK due to a side strain he picked up while featuring in The Hundred as Australia opted to rest the regular duo of Pat Cummins and Mitchell Starc for the T20Is, scheduled to start next month.

Johnson made his international debut in August 2023 and has so far featured in six international games. He has six T20I scalps so far, at an average of 26.66. The left-arm speedster was expected to fill in for Starc, who was rested for the T20I leg of the tour.
"He (Johnson) will return home for further assessment rehabilitation before the Australian summer," a statement from Cricket Australia said, as per ICC.
Abbott, who is also playing in The Hundred, was named as Johnson's replacement in T20I squad. Abbott, who was initially due to feature in just the ODI leg of the tour, has played 15 T20Is, with 15 scalps at an average of 26.60.
Abbott will share the fast bowling duties with Josh Hazlewood, Xavier Bartlett and Nathan Ellis, with support from all-rounders Cameron Green, Marcus Stoinis, and Aaron Hardie, who can all chip in with overs when required.
Skipper Mitchell Marsh also can bowl if required as he leads a side filled with some fresh faces, including the likes of Jake Fraser-McGurk and Cooper Connolly. Tim David, Josh Inglis, Adam Zampa and Travis Head make up the rest of the players in the squad.
Australia's tour of the UK kicks off with a three-match T20I series against Scotland, which the side will play from September 4-7. The side will then play a three-match T20I series in England followed by a five-game ODI series.
