Australia's Patrick Farhart set to be Indian cricket team's new physio

By PTI

New Delhi, July 24: Australia's Patrick Farhart is set to join the Indian cricket team as the new physiotherapist - part of the three new additions in the support staff which will join the Sri Lanka-bound squad for at least a year.

Farhart, who has almost three decades of professional experience, has been roped in to replace Nitin Patel, who had recently resigned due to personal reasons, reports ESPNcricinfo.

Farhart will be joined by Shankar Basu and Arun Kanade, who will be on board as strength and conditioning expert and masseur, respectively.

All three have been handed a one-year contract by BCCI, with Kanade assuming responsibility in Zimbabwe earlier this month.

Farhart and Basu will take charge in Sri Lanka with the three-match Test series starting August 12. Farhart has been associated with IPL franchise Mumbai Indians, while Basu is currently the Royal Challengers Bangalore trainer.
