Azhar's son warned several times of reckless driving before

Mumbai, Sep 14: Ayazuddin, son of cricketer Mohammed Azharuddin was warned over the dangers of speeding by officials in his college, said his college principal, Rama Rao.

The youngster who is currently hospitalised and battling for his life in a Hyderabad hospital, met with the tragedy when he along with his cousin Ajmal-ur-Rahman went on a bike ride on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Sept 11.

Ayazuddin (19) and Rahman (16) were rushed to Apollo hospital where Rahman, Azhar's nephew was declared dead .

"We only knew him as an aspiring cricketer, but our two physical directors, Danikel and Vijay Bhaskar Reddy, knew about his weekend outings and had warned him about reckless driving," said Rao, Principal, St Mary's College, Hyderabad after the news of Ayazuddin 's unstable medical condition was out.

"We arranged a special prayer in the morning for his speedy recovery and the students in the auditorium were guided about the safety measures," the principal added.

"Naureen (Ayazuddin's mother) is a regular visitor to the college and Ayazuddin was admitted to our college by Naureen and her father. They visited this college at least four-five times," he said.
