Hyderabad, Sept 17: The son of ex-cricketer and former Moradabad MP Ayazuddin was laid to rest on Sept 16, five days after he was critically injured in a bike accident.

The 19-year-old passed away on Sept 16 after a tragic bike accident that cost him his life. Ayaz was buried in a graveyard at Santosh Nagar after prayers were offered at the historic Mecca Masjid. [Read more: Hyd: Azharuddin's son Ayazuddin dies at Apollo Hospital]

Many supporters that included relatives, famous personalities and friends came forward to join the burial procession.

"He died at 11.51am due to hypoxic encephalopathy (a condition when there is not enough oxygen getting into the brain)," said CEO of Apollo Hospital, Hari Prasad after he died.

Ayazuddin along with his cousin, 16-year-old Ajmal-ur-Rahman, went on a bike ride on the outskirts of Hyderabad on Sept 11 after which he met with a serious bike accident. His cousin died in an hour after they were rushed Apollo Hospital.

"We lost a very promising cricketer. He was very disciplined, a talented batsman and used to play like his father," said John Sanjay, Ayaz's coach, who was shocked at the news of his death.
