Babar Azam fined for overspeeding his Audi car, driving without license ahead of World Cup 2023

Babar Azam penalised: Pakistan cricket team captain Babar Azam made headlines for the wrong reasons and was fined Rs 2000 by the Punjab Motorway Police on Monday (September 25).

As per reports, the Pakistan team captain first stopped for overspeeding and lane violation when the traffic personnel realised that he was driving without a license. According to the traffic police, the national cricket team skipper was fined Rs 2,000 on September 17 in Lahore’s Gulberg.

A picture of Babar Azam - who will now be leading the Pakistan cricket team in the forthcoming ICC Cricket World Cup 2023 in India - has gone viral on social media, where he can be seen standing next to a policeman with his white Audi car behind him.

It's worth noting that this isn't the first time that Babar Azam's vehicle has been pulled over by the traffic police. Earlier this year in May, he was stopped for not having a valid number plate. Cricket fans had a field day on X after the news broke out and Babar Azam's picture with the traffic cop went viral.

Babar Azam is set to lead Pakistan in the upcoming World Cup 2023 in India. The team will play their first match against Netherlands on October 6 in Hyderabad. Pakistan cricket team's visa issues have been sorted and the PCB has been asked to collect their passports from the Indian High Commission in Islamabad.

Pakistan are scheduled to play two warm-up matches ahead of the main event. They face New Zealand on September 29 and Pakistan on October 3.
