Babar Azam to Ahmed Shehzad: How Have Pakistan Players Fared in Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2024

Pakistan players have once again emerged as one of the key attractions in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) which is about to enter its business end. Out of the 42 league stage matches, 31 were dusted by Wednesday (February 14) afternoon.

Pakistan players, especially the batter have not endured a good BPL 2024 season. Apart from Babar Azam no batter from Pakistan has scored more than 200 runs.

The likes of Mohammad Rizwan, Khushdil Shah and Mohammad Nawaz have flunked, and Ahmed Shehzad has emerged as the second-highest run-scorer from the country. In the bowling unit, uncapped Mohammad Imran is leading the chart among Pakistan players.

BPL 2024: How Have Pakistan Players Fared in Bangladesh Premier League 2024

  • Babar Azam (Rangpur Riders): After 31 matches in BPL 2024, has scored 252 runs in six matches at an average of 50.2 and a strike rate of 114.61. He is the fourth-highest run-scorer in the Bangladesh Premier League 2024.
  • Ahmed Shehzad (Fortune Barishal): Out-of-favour batter Ahmed Shehzad is the second-highest run-scorer from Pakistan in the BPL 2024. He has scored 155 runs in six matches at an average of 25.83 and a strike rate of 143.51 for Fortune Barishal. He is the fifth-highest run-scorer from his team currently.
  • Shoaib Malik (Fortune Barishal): The veteran all-rounder has scored 113 runs in seven matches at an average of 56.5 and a strike rate of 131.39. He has also picked three wickets.
  • Mohammad Nawaz (Khulna Tigers): The Pakistan all-rounder has scored 100 runs in four matches (three innings) at an average of 50 and a strike rate of 142.85. He has hit one fifty in the tournament.
  • Mohammad Rizwan (Comilla Victorians): The star wicketkeeper-batter has featured in five BPL 2024 matches and scored 85 runs at an average of 21.25 and a strike rate of 82.52 for Comilla Victorians.
  • Saim Ayub (Durdanto Dhaka): The young Pakistan opener has also failed miserably. He has managed to score just 77 runs at an average of 15.4 and a strike rate of 95.06.
  • Khushdil Shah (Comilla Victorians): The 29-year-old middle-order batter has also failed to deliver. He has scored just 65 runs in six matches at an average of 13 and a strike rate of 144.44. He has also picked four wickets.
  • Faheem Ashraf (Khulna Tigers): The fast-bowling all-rounder has scored 60 runs in four matches at a strike rate of and an average of 30. He has also picked eight wickets at an average of 12.75.
  • Mohammad Imran (Fortune Barishal): The uncapped India pacer is the sixth-highest wicket-taker in the tournament. He has picked 10 wickets in six matches at an average of 18.8.
  • Bilal Khan (Chattogram Challengers): The Pakistan left-arm pacer has picked 10 wickets in nine matches at an average of 28.9.
  • Aamer Jamal (Comilla Victorians): The Pakistan right-arm pacer has picked six wickets in three matches at an average of 10.33 and an economy rate 6.52.
