Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi tore into Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Zaka Ashraf for Babar Azam's WhatsApp chat leak without consent on national television. The former all-rounder found the actions disgraceful.
"Sorry to say, but this is a disgraceful act. You don't do that," said Shahid Afridi on a TV show. "You don't defame your own country. You don't defame your own players. How can you leak someone's private messages? That too of our captain, Babar Azam?"

PCB chief revealed the conversation between the board's COO Salman Naseer and Babar Azam after former Pakistan wicket-keeper Rashid Latif claimed that Zaka Ashraf has been ignoring calls by Babar Azam while salaries of Pakistan players are due for the last five months.
Shahid Afridi meanwhile urged for an investigation into ARY TV host Waseem Badami, who ran the images of the chat online, claims that Zaka Ashraf gave him the go-ahead to show the private message on their channel.
"Waseem Badami is saying that the chairman asked him to leak the conversation? What kind of act is this? Even if the chairman has committed this act, then I am sorry to say, but it's extremely disgraceful," he further added.
The conversation between Babar Azam and PCB COO was short as Salman asked: "Babar, there's also been this news circulating on TV and social media that you have been calling Chairman and he's not answering. Have you called him recently?"
To which Babar Azam responded: Salam Salman bhai, ma ny to sir ko koi call nai ke (Hello Salman brother, I did not make any calls to sir)."
While fans on social media have criticised the action of showing private messages of Babar Azam on national television, pace great Waqar Younis also took to Twitter expressed his displeasure on the action of PCB and urged everyone to leave Babar Azam alone and let him focus on his game.
