The inaugural Delhi Premier League T20 kicked off with a dazzling opening ceremony at Arun Jaitley Stadium, where music icon Badshah took center stage, delivering an electrifying performance that left the audience in awe.
The glamorous event also featured Bollywood star Sonam Bajwa, adding to the spectacle with her stunning presence.

The ceremony was a star-studded affair, graced by top officials from the Delhi & District Cricket Association (DDCA), including President Rohan Jaitley, along with franchise owners, players, and staff from all participating teams.
Rohan Jaitley, while officially launching the league, highlighted the significance of the event for Delhi's cricketing community, stating, "The Delhi Premier League marks a monumental step for cricket in the capital, providing a much-needed platform for our local talent to shine."
In a special moment, Delhi's cricketing legends, Rishabh Pant and Virat Kohli, were honored for their contributions to India's recent ICC T20 World Cup victory. Pant, who will lead Purani Dilli 6 in the tournament, was present to receive the accolade, while Kohli was represented by his brother.
The opening match, following the ceremony, saw Purani Dilli 6 face off against South Delhi Superstarz, featuring cricketing talents like Rishabh Pant, Ishant Sharma, Ayush Badoni, and Lalit Yadav. The Delhi Premier League T20, running from August 17 to September 8, 2024, promises 23 days of thrilling cricket with 40 matches scheduled across the men's and women's categories.
