BAN-A vs HKG Head to Head: Bangladesh A will face Hong Kong in Match 1 of the Emerging Teams Asia Cup 2024 on Friday, October 18 at Al Amerat, Oman. Bangladesh A, led by Towhid Hridoy, will look to get a winning start against tournament underdogs Hong Kong.
In the last four Emerging Teams Asia Cup tournaments, Bangladesh A have finished as semi-finalists twice and a finalist once. However, they will look to go one step further this time, finally clinching their maiden ACC title.

For Hong Kong captain Nizakat Khan, getting a positive result against a strong Bangladesh Emerging side will be a challenge, but fans can expect a strong fight on Friday at the Al Amerat stadium.
Interestingly, Friday's clash will be the first time these two teams have faced each other on the cricket team, as Bangladesh A and Hong Kong have yet to play any cricket match between themselves so far.
The last five official matches for Bangladesh A came during their tour of Pakistan in August, where they faced the Pakistan Shaheens in two Test and three ODI matches. However, Towhid Hridoy and Co. had to return empty-handed from the series, failing to win even one match.
The two Test matches ended in draws, with Bangladesh A posting an impressive total of 404 in the second Test. However, their luck was worse in the T20I series, with Pakistan winning the first match by eight wickets, chasing down the target with more than 22 overs remaining. The next two matches were abandoned due to bad weather.
Hong Kong will come into the match with a much better recent track record. Their last match against Kuwait in the T20 World Cup Asia Qualifier was abandoned due to rain, but Hong Kong posted an encouraging total of 139/9 in the first innings.
In the previous matches, they have won three out of four games, with their only loss being a three-run defeat to Malaysia in September.
