'Ban Him' - DC Owner Parth Jindal Faces Fans Rage After Aggressive Reaction To Samson Controversial Dismissal

By MyKhel Staff

Some disgruntled fans called for the ban of Delhi Capitals co-owner Parth Jindal on social media following his aggressive reaction to Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson's dismissal in IPL 2024 match 56 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Tuesday (May 7).

We have seen some angry reactions from players and coaching staff in the dugout in the IPL a few times, but the DC vs RR IPL 2024 match witnessed something unusual as Delhi Capitals co-owner Jindal was seen aggressively calling for the decision to go in favour of his team from the stands.

The incident took place in the 16th over of RR's chase when skipper Samson (86 off 46) had struck Mukesh Kumar down the ground and it was en route to clear the ropes, but Shai Hope intervened to take a catch which triggered differing opinions among fans and experts.

Hope took the catch very close to the ropes while balancing himself to stay inside the field of play. The replays showed that he was close to the cushions, but didn't touch them.

Samson initially began to walk off but returned after viewing the replays on the big screen. However, the third umpire concluded that Hope's feet did not touch the boundary cushions at any point, ruling Samson out.

Samson was still displeased with the decision, but had to reluctantly head back to the pavillion before clarifying with the on field umpires and checking with his dug out if he can review the call.

As Samson was seen objecting to the decision, Jindal began shouting "out hai, out hai" at him. The DC co-owners behavior drew flak from fans on social media with some calling him to behave properly and some even calling for his ban from the stadium.

One fan said: "DC owner! He should be banned from further games due to his behaviour! Filthy one." This was the opinion of several angry fans on social media platform X.

Another fan also echoed the word ban and posted: "BCCI should ban Parth Jindal from coming to the stadium these kind of people are not made for this beautiful game. Ban this Clown it's a kind request please ban him."

"Ridiculous behavior by Parth Jindal btw not even fans in stadium while cheering act in such an arrogant way,Sanju Samson owned his team & his ego got hurt ; trophyless mentality all over him, would want to see even rcb win but not his team," another user posted on X.

While many agreed the decision was right, former India cricket Navjot Singh Sidhu said Hope's feet touched the cushion twice and the TV umpire has made a wrong call to give Samson out.

Coming back to the match, DC rode on fifties from Abhishek Porel and Jake Fraser-McGurk followed by a late cameo from Tristan Stubbs to post a challenging total of 221 after being put to bat first in Delhi.

In response, Samson kept RR in the chase with a fifty, but his dismissal led to change in the match situation as the rest of the batting line up could only take RR to 201 in their allotted 20 overs.

With this result, DC kept their hopes of playoff spot alive as they moved to fifth place with 12 points, while RR still remained in contention for a top two finish despite losing the match as they already have 16 points on board with three games left to play.
