Bangladesh will look to bounce back and level the series when they take on Sri Lanka in the second T20I at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet on Wednesday (March 6).
Najmul Hossian Shanto-led Bangladesh fell short by just three runs in their run chase of 207 against Charith Asalanka-led Sri Lanka in the series opener on Monday (March 4) at the same venue in Sylhet.

Put into bat, Sri Lanka rode on knocks from Kusal Mendis (59 off 36), Sadeera Samarawickrama (61* off 48) and Asalanka (44* off 21) to set a challenging target of 207.
In response, Bangladesh lost three wickets in a hurry, but Mahmudullah (54 off 31) and Jaker Ali (68 off 34) set the hosts well on-course for a win till Maheesh Theekshana and Dasun Shanaka sent the pair packing to seal a 3-run victory.
Now, the two sides are set to cross paths again. This will be the 15th clash between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh in T20s, and also third meeting between the two sides at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium, having met in the series opener and once back in 2018.

The venue in Sylhet has hosted 11 T20I matches so far with the home team winning 2 of their five outings, while neutral teams have won six times during the 2014 T20 World Cup.
Bangladesh's two wins came only last year against Afghanistan. Sri Lanka has won both their outings at the venue. First in 2018 and the second earlier this week. Here is a look at the venue stats & records:
The pitch used for the first T20I seemed like a belter, on which run-scoring was easy, but in the recently concluded Bangladesh Premeir League there were some low-scoring matches with spinners dominating the proceedings. Chasing teams have won the matches here most.
There is forecast for clear day and hazy evening on Wednesday (March 6) with the temperature expected to drop from 25 to 19°C in the playing hours of the match. There is no prediction for rain. So, weather will not play spoilsport in the BAN vs SL 2nd T20I.
