Senior player Mushfiqur Rahim has been ruled out, while Najmul Hossain Shanto remains doubtful for the series opener as Bangladesh announced their squad for the upcoming 2-match away Test series against West Indies, scheduled to begin on November 22 in Antigua.
Rahim had sustained a fracture on the tip of his left index finger while keeping wickets during the first ODI against Afghanistan in Sharjah, an injury that subsequently sidelined him from the ongoing three-match ODI series.

According to medical assessments, his recovery is expected to require four to six weeks, thus ruling him out of the Test series against the West Indies. The experienced batter may also miss the subsequent ODI series in the Caribbean.
Bangladesh will play the first Test against West Indies in Antigua before the series concludes in Jamaica a couple of weeks later. Following the Test series, Bangladesh are scheduled to play three ODIs and three T20Is against the West Indies.
Bangladesh team management has not yet named a replacement for Mushfiqur in the ongoing ODI series against Afghanistan. Mushfiqur, who has already retired from T20I cricket, will join the team for the ODI leg of the West Indies tour if his recovery progresses as expected.
While Mushfiqur is set to miss the red ball series, Najmul Hossain Shanto who was reportedly wanting to step down from captaincy, was retained as skipper for the West Indies Test series.
However, the skipper was ruled out of the final ODI against Afghanistan, and also remains a doubt for the West Indies Test series opener due to a groin injury, which could two weeks to head. All-rounder Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who is Shanto's deputy in the series, is likely to lead the side in his absence.
Bangladesh will also be without another senior in Shakib Al Hasan, who announced his retirement from Tests and T20Is in September. Bangladesh has named an almost similar looking squad that faced South Africa last month. Here is a look at the BAN Test Squad:
Najmul Hossain Shanto (captain), Shadman Islam, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, Zakir Hasan, Mominul Haque Showrab, Mahidul Islam Ankon, Litton Das (wicketkeeper), Jaker Ali Anik, Mehidy Hasan Miraz (vice captain), Taijul Islam, Shoriful Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Hasan Mahmud, Nahid Rana, Hasan Murad.
