BAN vs ZIM: Zimbabwe on Wednesday announced their 15-member squad for the upcoming five-match T20I series against Bangladesh starting May 3. Sikandar Raza will lead the team which also includes Johnathan Campbell - the son of former Zimbabwe captain Alistair Campbell. Raza is currently part of the Punjab Kings (PBKS) squad in IPL 2024.
Top order batter Tadiwanashe Marumani and all-rounder Faraz Akram have earned recalls. The rest of the players picked in the squad were part of the squad for Zimbabwe’s last T20I series away to Sri Lanka in January. Zimbabwe levelled the series 1-1 before losing the final T20I.

Johnathan Campbell was part of Zimbabwe Emerging Players squad winning the gold medal in the African Games in March. Clive Madande and Brian Bennett were also part of that squad and have retained their places.
Veteran cricketers Craig Ervine and Sean Williams, pacers Richard Ngarava and Blessing Muzarabani have also been named in the Zimbabwe squad for Bangladesh T20Is.
With Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) yet to appoint a new head coach, former cricketer Stuart Matsikenyeri will be in charge of the team on the tour. The two sides will play the first three T20Is in Chattogram on May 3, 5 and 7. They will then travel to Dhaka for the final two matches on May 10 and 12.
The series will act as a perfect dress-rehearsal opportunity for Bangladesh ahead of the upcoming T20 World Cup 2024 which will be held in the USA and the West Indies from June 2. Notably, Zimbabwe haven't qualified for the ICC showpiece event.
