A former Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) official has blamed Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) chairman Mohsin Naqvi for Bangladesh's ill-fated T20 World Cup, which saw them get replaced.
Bangladesh stuck to their claim of not playing in India after the Mustafizur Rahman saga in the IPL. Despite repeated attempts from the ICC to make amends, BCB officials and then-Bangladesh government rebuffed and ended up eliminating themselves from the T20 World Cup.

In an ICC voting, PCB voted for Bangladesh and urged ICC to move their matches away from India, but to no avail. Pakistan showed their solidarity with Bangladesh and even announced to boycott India match, but ended up playing their arch-rivals.
And now former BCB general secretary Ashraful Haque has blamed Mohsin Naqvi as he claims the Pakistan official persuaded BCB's Aminul Islam to announce their willingness of not travelling to India.
"As a cricket administrator, I focus on honesty and commitment. Aminul Islam, likely being naive, was influenced by Mr Mohsin Naqvi, the current ACC president, who persuaded him to go along. At the end of the day, who won? " Haque said to RevSportz.
Haque also took apart Bangladesh's decision of not coming to India, which was mostly a reaction to Mustafizur's removal from the IPL.
"I made my position clear from the outset. I always believed the decision taken by the Bangladesh government at the time, particularly by the then sports advisor, was premature. There was no justification for such a drastic decision simply because Mustafizur Rahman was not allowed to play in the IPL in India," he added.
Amid this, the Indian team's tour to Bangladesh later this year remains a question. If the Indian team decided not to travel to Dhaka for the bilateral series, it would be another financial blow for BCB.
Interestingly, BCB were saved from financial sanction from ICC, as the apex body went lenient on them despite withdrawal from the T20 World Cup. The decision was part of a negotiation which saw Pakistan playing India in the T20 World Cup.
