Bangladesh Tour Of Pakistan 2025: The summer of cricket in South Asia is heating up, and it all kicks off at the iconic Gaddafi Stadium as Pakistan welcome Bangladesh for a thrilling three-match T20I series starting Wednesday, May 28.
This marks Bangladesh’s first visit to Pakistan since 2020 and, fittingly, all three encounters will be staged under lights at Lahore’s newly renovated cricketing cathedral – Gaddafi Stadium.

This series is extra special. It’s not just another bilateral affair, but the first T20I series to be held at Gaddafi since its state-of-the-art revamp earlier this year. With fresh grass, reworked floodlights and premium seating, Lahore’s loyal cricket fans are in for a spectacle — both on and off the field.
Pakistan’s skipper Salman Ali Agha, oozing quiet confidence, believes his team is primed for this challenge. After a riveting HBL PSL X campaign, several of Pakistan’s squad members are riding a wave of rich form.
“The boys are doing well as a unit. A lot of our players are coming off strong performances in the HBL PSL X, which is one of the most competitive T20 tournaments in the world,” Agha said.
More importantly, the skipper had a message for the fans.
“Bangladesh are a quality side with talented players, and we are expecting a good challenge from them. I believe fans are in for some thrilling cricket over the next few days,” he said, before urging spectators to “turn up in big numbers and support not just us, but the spirit of the game.”
For the visitors, this is more than just another series – it’s a chance to bounce back. After a morale-shaking 2-1 defeat against UAE, Bangladesh are eager to rediscover their rhythm. Litton Das, who will lead the squad in the absence of regular senior names like Mustafizur Rahman, knows this tour could shape the Tigers’ T20 World Cup roadmap.
“This series is a great opportunity for every player to step up. We are trying a few combinations in the build-up to the T20 World Cup next year, and this tour is a valuable part of that process,” Das told reporters before departure.
While they may miss the experience of Mustafizur, Bangladesh still boast a young and hungry squad ready to grab their moment under the lights in Lahore.
One of the talking points ahead of the series has been the absence of the Decision Review System (DRS). In an era when almost every international series leans on technology for accuracy and fairness, this is a noticeable omission.
According to sources, budgetary constraints and lack of broadcaster interest have played spoilsport. While the teams have accepted the decision, fans may want to brace themselves for a few controversial umpiring calls. Here’s hoping the men in the middle get their decisions spot on!
With all three matches happening at night, expect electric atmospheres, full houses, and cricket of the highest order.
