Afghanistan will continue their tour of Bangladesh 2023 in a two-match T20I series, staring with the first T20I on Friday (July 14) at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium in Sylhet, a venue that will also host the second T20I on Sunday (July 16).
The tour started last month with a One-off Test match which Bangladesh won by a massive 546 runs. The two sides then clashed in the 50-over format in a series that was a platform to prepare for the T20I World Cup later this year.

The 3-match ODI series which concluded earlier this week, was won by the visitors, who lost the final ODI after winning opening two matches. The three ODI were held at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium in Chattogram.
Now, the action shifts to the shortest format in international level. This will be Bangladesh's first T20I assignment since March when they won the home series 2-1 against Ireland. For Afghanistan also, this will be the first assignment since the March 2-1 series win against Pakistan in UAE.
Bangladesh will be led by star all-rounder Shakin Al Hasan, while Afghanistan will be led by star spinner Rashid Khan. The series will see the tenth and eleventh meetings between the two sides in T20 format. Afghanistan have beaten Bangladesh in 6 of the 9 T20 meetings so far.
