Who Won the Toss Today, BAN vs SL World Cup 2023 Match 38: Bangladesh captain Shakib Al Hasan won the toss and elected to field first against Kusal Mendis' Sri Lanka in ICC World Cup 2023 at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Monday (November 6).
Bangladesh and Sri Lanka head into the match on the back of defeats. While Bangladesh lost to Pakistan at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata, Sri Lanka were handed a demoralising defeat by India at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

Bangladesh has lost six of seven matches to be ruled out of contention in semifinal race, while Sri Lanka, who have won 2 and lost 5, still have a slim chance of finishing the top four, which could end with a defeat today.
As for the team news for Monday's match, Bangladesh are forced into a change from their defeat to Pakistan as unfit Mustafizur Rahman makes way for Tanzim Hasan Shakib.
Sri Lanka, on the other hand, have made two changes from their defeat to India as Dhananjaya de Silva and Kusal Janith Perera come in for Dimuth Karunaratne and Dushan Hemantha.
After opting to field first, Bangladesh skipper Shakib said: "Looks like a very good surface. There was a lot of dew when we practised. There are a lot of expectations but we couldn't fill up. We have two more games and we would like to do well."
On team combination, Shakib added: "We have to be technically sound and also mentally strong. We have one change - Mustafiz is not fit enough and Tanzim Sakib comes in his place."
Sri Lanka skipper Mendis said: "Looks like a good wicket, I don't mind batting first. We want to put up a good score on this pitch, I think 300 plus would be good. We have two changes. Kusal Perera and Dhananjaya come in and Karunaratne and Hemantha are out."
Bangladesh XI: Tanzid Hasan, Litton Das, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mushfiqur Rahim (wicketkeeper), Mahmudullah, Shakib Al Hasan (captain), Towhid Hridoy, Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Tanzim Hasan Sakib, Taskin Ahmed, Shoriful Islam.
Sri Lanka XI: Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Perera, Kusal Mendis (captain/wicketkeeper), Sadeera Samarawickrama, Charith Asalanka, Angelo Mathews, Dhananjaya de Silva, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Kasun Rajitha, Dilshan Madushanka.
Sanjay Manjrekar and Ian Bishop reckon it should be another run feast. And it's the same wicket that was used when two fastest World Cup hundreds were sruck earlier in the tournament. They also feel the ball should come on nicley, while bounce and pace also can be trusted.
