Bangladesh are supposed to play Sri Lanka in the ICC World Cup 2023 match on Monday (November 6).
Bangladesh are already eliminated of the World Cup, while Sri Lanka are barely hanging on in the tournament. Although both teams may be eliminated from the group stages, the fierce Asian rivals will be hoping to put on a show in their remaining matches.

Amid this, there are reports that the match can be called off. The doubts are currently looming large over the conduction of the match.
The match between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka can be abandoned due to the rising air pollution in Delhi and its surroundings. The Air Quality Index has reached 300 to 500 in Delhi, which is hazardous for breathing.
Amid this, the match can get abandoned if the AQI remains the same. Specialists have said that the pollution level has risen to such a level that it can cause breathing problems for players during the match.
The dangerous levels of air pollution are an ongoing issue in the Capital, which is at the root of Delhi's high number of respiratory issues among the people.
Also, along with the escalating pollutants, the smog has covered the skies of the Capital. Amid this, playing white ball cricket can be a problem as that can cause visibility issue. The smog is also quite heavy and takes a long time to clear, potentially causing a delayed start of the match.

The AQI on Friday in Delhi's Pusa was 444, while it was 456 around the Delhi Airport area, 444 in Rohini and around 431 in the Old Delhi areas. And if it remains the same on Monday, there will be serious doubts over the match.
The match can be stopped if any players or umpires complain breathing issues. Hence there is a massive doubt on the conditions in Delhi, which can lead to an abandonment of the match.
If the match gets abandoned, both teams will be handed one point. If that happens, Sri Lanka will also be eliminated from the tournament.
