Hobart Hurricanes pulled off a 5-wicket victory in a thrilling final over against Brisbane Heat in the Big Bash League (BBL) 14 amidst a fire break out in the stands at the Gabba in Brisbane on Thursday (January 16).
The Gabba saw a hug total being chased down and also produced more drama when fire started in the stands during the run chase of Hurricanes. A fire in the stands above the scorecards led to a small delay in the proceedings on Thursday (January 16) inside the playing arena with the Police and security getting into action.

Fox Sports journalist Eloise Sohier reported several fans at the sold-out Gabba had to be removed from the the DJ area, which was right above one of the scoreboards at the ground, with smoke billowing from the stands. The incident occured after the four over of the Hurricanes' run-chase.
As it was not a major incident, the players did not left the playing field and the game restarted very soon after the fire was doused off by the personnel using an extinguisher and fire blanket. Here is a look at the clip of the fire break out:
Coming back to the Brisbane Heat vs Hobart Hurricanes BBL 14 match, the home side, Heat rode on Marnus Labuschagne's 77 off 44 balls to set a target of 202, which was chased down by the Hurricanes in the final ball of their innings with 5 wickets to spare.
Openers Caleb Jewell (76 off 49 balls) and Mitchell Owen (44 off 20 balls) got the Hurricanes off the blocks in a hurry to provide the best possible start with an 80-run stand from 35 balls before Nikhil Chaudhary (39 off 27 balls) played a handy knock to overcome the jolt delivered by Spencer Johnson (3 for 26).
Senior pro Matthew Wade (15* off 9 balls) and Jake Doran (8* off 4 balls) remained unbeaten to see Hurricanes home, chasing down 11 in the final over delivered by pacer Xavier Bartlett.
