BBL 2023: Electric stumps were on display for the first time in the history of the Big Bash League (BBL) when Sydney Sixers took on Adelaide Strikers at the Sydney Cricket Ground (SCG) on Friday, December 22.
The electric stumps have been earlier used during the Women's Big Bash League (WBBL). Michael Vaughan and Mark Waugh unveiled the electric wickets at the SCG just before the start of the game.

"Exciting news out here in the middle. They were used in WBBL, but they are being used for the first time in men's BBL," Vaughan said. The electric wickets are being used to increase the fan experience at the stadiums and on TV sets.
Former Australia opener Mark Waugh went on to explain the three different modes of the new electric wickets in the Men's Big Bash League. Here are the details.

Brisbane Heat are currently leading the BBL 2023 points table after three wins in four matches. One of their games ended without a result. Perth Scorchers are second with two wins in three matches.
