The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has announced the National Players Central Contract 2024 in which twenty-one cricketers have been included with the only major exclusion being former captain Tamim Iqbal.
Tamim's exclusion from the contract list increases doubts over his future with the opening batter, who has had sour relationship with the board for the past few month, likely to have played his international game.

The 34-year-old, who is the country's all-time leading run-scorer with 15,249 international runs including 25 centuries across formats, last played an international match in September 2023 and had also made a quick retirement u-turn in July.
In July last year, Tamim was talked out of his retirement by the country's Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. While he stepped down from captaincy, Tamim made himself available for the World Cup. But he was omitted from the squad for the show-piece tournament.
Now, his exclusion from the players salary contract raises doubts over his international future. Tamim is currently playing in the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) for Fortune Barishal.
While Tamim was excluded from the players central contract, Najmul Hossain Shanto, the latest skipper, and Shoriful Islam were included in the all format list along with Litton Das, Shakib Al Hassan and Mehidy Hasan Miraz.
Pacer Taskin Ahmed, who was in the all format list last year, has been included in the ODI and T20I contracts after he had written to the board to be not considered for Tests.
Taskin is one among four players with an ODI and T20I contract alongside Towhid Hridoy, Hasan Mahmud and Mustafizur Rahman, while senior member Mushfiqur Rahim is the sole player to be handed a Test and ODI contract.
In the T20 World Cup year, Nasum Ahmed, Mahedi Hasan and Nurul Hasan have been handed T20I salary contracts by the BCB. Here is a look at the full list of Bangladesh players contract:
