BCCI lifts ban on ICL players

By Super Admin

Mumbai, Apr 29: The Board of Control for Cricket in India has lifted the ban on players associated with the Indian Cricket League (ICL) provided they cut off links with the Subhash Chandra-owned League.

Shashank Manohar, the president of the BCCI revealed on Wednesday, Apr 29 that the decision was taken after some ICL players and their support staff approached the BCCI board admitting that they had made a mistake by associating with the rebel ICL.

Noting the commitments that come with this deal he added, "We have decided to grant amnesty to the ICL players and welcome them to return to the BCCI fold... The players will not be given any international assignment for one year after they quit the ICL as a punishment. But they can play in the domestic competitions. They have been given the amnesty time till May 31."
