BCCI has identified bowlers with suspect action: Shah

Rajkot, Feb 11 (UNI) Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) secretary Niranjan Shah today acknowledged that bowlers with suspect actions have been identified.

The issue of bowlers with suspect action at the domestic level is quite serious, and the BCCI has identified some 13 bowlers with flawed action.

However, Mr Shah declined to reveal the names of these bowlers.

The BCCI had identified 13 bowlers with flawed action in the last Ranji Trophy season.

''While going through the video footage for assessing the umpires' performance, BCCI Director of Umpires and former India captain S Venkataraghavan has noticed some bowlers with suspect actions,'' Mr Shah said.

Mr Shah said the list is being compiled and if it is felt that these bowlers require assistance, they will be sent for correcting their action to the National Cricket Academy (NCA) at Bangalore.
