BCCI marks Hyderabad or Rajkot as venue for day-night Test, waits for CoA nod

Hyderabad or Rajkot may host the day night test against the West Indies, says BCCI

The first day-night Test in India may be staged either in Rajkot or Hyderabad

Bengaluru, March 18: The Tours and Fixtures Committee of the BCCI has marked either Rajkot or Hyderabad as venue for the first day-night Test in India against the West Indies in November later this year.

However, the final ratification has to be given by the Committee of Administrators (CoA). Earlier, the CoA had expressed their displeasure over BCCI discussing the possibility of a day-night Test with Indian team management, including head coach Ravi Shastri, without keep them in the loop.

"It all depends on the CoA now. If they give the go ahead then we will have a day-night Test against the West Indies in November and dates will be fixed once we get the CoA nod," a BCCI official told Mykhel.

However, India will not play too many international matches at home in 2018. The most important among them is the Test match against Afghanistan in June in Bengaluru.

Apart from that India will play two Tests against the West Indies besides five ODIs and three T20Is against the Caribbeans.

The five ODIs will be held in: Kochi, Indore, Mumbai, Guwahati and Pune. After this, India will leave for Australia for a two-month long series.

In 2019, India will host Australia for five ODIs and two T20Is in February-March.

The five ODIs will be held in Mohali (February 24), Hyderabad (February 27), Nagpur (March 2), Delhi (March 5) and Ranchi (March 8).

The two T20 Internationals will be held in Bengaluru (March 10) and Visakhapatnam (March 13).
