BCCI Central Contract: The BCCI have already revealed the central contract of the women cricketers for the period 2024-25 on Monday, 24th March.
As of now, there is no update on the latest Men's contract and a lot of speculations are going on, who will make the cut for the upcoming calendar year.

The delay in announcing the Indian men's cricket team's central contracts for the 2024-25 season is due to multiple factors. According to Sportstar, the anticipated elevation of Jay Shah to ICC Chair and the recent appointment of Devajit Saikia as BCCI secretary have postponed key decisions. Additionally, chief selector Ajit Agarkar's commitments in Australia further delayed discussions.
Legal challenges since the 2013 IPL corruption scandal have also contributed to recurring delays. While the BCCI prioritized the women's contracts, the men's contracts were put on hold. Historically, announcements often occur months into the cycle, with last year's contracts revealed in late February. Some players have also called for a revised contract cycle from April to March, though no decision has been made yet.
1) Shreyas Iyer: The Punjab Kings' captain's inclusion should be a no-brainer. Be it in the IPL or in the domestic circuit or in the Champions Trophy 2025, Iyer has always delivered for his team and has established himself as one of the key players in all the formats of the game. Last time, he missed out a place and this time around, he should be the top pick as far as the new inclusions are concerned.
2) Ishan Kishan: Kishan reportedly lost his BCCI contract for not giving priority to domestic tournaments and has been out of India contention since November 2023. He didn't have a very good IPL 2024 either but in the IPL 2025 match in his Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) debut, he stunned everyone with a blistering hundred against Rajasthan Royals to send a big statement to the selectors. Kishan is always a good fit for T20Is and can be a very good prospect in the 50-over game as well.
3) Abhishek Sharma: The 24-year-old batter has grown by leaps and bounds in the past few years and have solidified himself as one of the best Indian T20I batters around. With the likes of Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma retiring from the format , he has been tipped to fill up their role in the shortest format of the game. With the kind of form he is in, he actually deserves a chance.
Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, and Ravindra Jadeja may lose their Grade A+ BCCI contracts after retiring from T20 internationals following India's T20 World Cup 2024 win. As per BCCI rules, only players active in all three formats (Tests, ODIs, and T20Is) are eligible for the Grade A+ category. With their T20I retirement, the trio is likely to be moved to a Grade A contract.
