BCCI, Nimbus denied interim relief by HC

New Delhi, Nov 16 (UNI) The Delhi High Court today denied the BCCI and sports broadcaster Nimbus Communications any interim relief to share feed of cricket test matches with Prasar Bharti.

BCCI and Nimbus had challenged the centre's policy directing private broadcasters to share private feed of test matches with the state run Prasar Bharti.

A Bench comprising Chief Justice M K Sharma and Justice Sanjeev Khanna refused to grant interim relief to the petitioners.

They also directed the Centre and Prasar Bharti to file their response on the issue before the next date of hearing.

The petitioners had challenged Section 3 of the Sports Broadcasting Signal Act making it compulsory for the private broadcasters to share their feed with Prasar Bharti.

Senior Advocate Ashok Desai appearing for the petitioners had contended that the Section 3 of the Act should be stayed as it was causing them financial loss.

The next date of hearing on the matter is on December 10.
