BCCI is reportedly aiming to launch a T10 tournament in the upcoming years, as per reports.
After the monumental success of IPL, which has revolutionized the financial scenario of Indian cricket, the apex body is now keen to explore their reach in the shortest format of the game.
T10 format has made marks already as it is being played in UAE, USA and other countries. With the T10 still kind of unexplored in India, BCCI is reportedly keen on giving it a go.

As per a report by Moneycontrol, the primary meeting with the stakeholders and investors has bode well and a Green Light has been given to the idea.
The IPL's monumental impact on the cricketing landscape since its debut in 2008 has been nothing short of transformative. The BCCI, motivated by this success, aspires to replicate it with a T10 league. The shorter format of the game is expected to inject even greater excitement into the sport, making it more appealing to a broader audience across the nation.
At the core of the BCCI's planning lies a critical contractual clause with the IPL franchises, allowing them the right of first refusal on any new venture bearing resemblance to the IPL's business model.
This clause ensures that the franchises maintain a stake in the cricketing innovations spearheaded by the BCCI. The board is committed to honouring this agreement and will engage the existing franchises before finalizing any plans for the new T10 league.
And along with that, there are few other issues the board will have to resolve before any concrete plan emerges.
We can safely say there are a lot of things still to be considered before the board takes a new leap. The potential of the tournament is undeniable, but existing conditions and factors will have to find an amicable solution.
If the T10 tournament materializes, we may see a further constriction in the international window. With the different T10 tournaments gaining pace, a tournament organized by BCCI can be a major boost in the franchise world, which can be a telling blow for 50-over cricket. Already we have seen the decrease in popularity in the ODIs except ICC tournaments, and another full-fledged T10 competition will be a big body blow.
