BCCI working committee to discuss Ford's withdrawal

Bangalore, Jun 11 (UNI) Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) Working Committee meeting in New Delhi tomorrow will discuss the communication of South African Coach Graham Ford who had turned down the offer to coach the Indian team.

Talking to newspersons after a meeting with senior Indian players on contract issue, BCCI Treasurer N Srinivasan said BCCI has received a communication from Ford saying that he was withdrawing his candidature as the coach of the Indian team. ''The all powerful working committee will decide on the next course of action after discussing the matter'', he said.

Ford in his communication had said that ''I am not in a position to take up the assignment as the Indian coach at such a short notice, due to my commitments as Director of Cricket at English county Kent. Hence I am withdrawing my candidature.'' ''We will discuss and find a way out,'' Mr Srinivasan added.
