BCCI holds meet with IPL's marketing firm in Mumbai

By Super Admin

Mumbai, May 17 (ANI): Top functionaries of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) met executives International Management Group (IMG), the marketing company of Indian Premier League (IPL) here on Monday.

They sought details of the financial dealings during the tenure of now suspended IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi.

BCCI President Shashank Manohar, Secretary N Srinivisan, Media and Finance Committee Chairman Rajiv Shukla, interim IPL Chairman Chirayu Amin and Vice-Chairman Niranjan Shah attended the meeting that lasted for about two hours.

"We had a friendly and constructive meeting with the BCCI officials," Wildblood told reporters after the meet.

He hoped to be associated with the IPL next season as well.

IMG that has successfully conducted the first three seasons of India's cash-rich league, deputed senior vice-president Andrew Wildblood and two other representatives, Paul Manning and John Loffhagen, to meet the BCCI officials.

IMG reportedly hit headlines following rumours that it was involved in the planning of a 'rebel' Twenty20 league in England in conjunction with Modi.

However, it denied the charges by contending it had always respected the authority and sovereignty of official sports federations.

Modi was sent a show cause notice on this count by the BCCI.

The notice charges Modi of financial irregularity, but he has maintained that all decisions were taken collectively by the IPL Governing Council.

Modi is also facing the charges of receiving kickbacks for allotting TV broadcast rights and manipulating bids. (ANI)
