Bengal Pro T20 League: Murshidabad Kings to face Smashers Malda in Inaugural Final

Sobisco Smashers Malda will clash against Murshidabad Kings in the final of the inaugural Men's Bengal Pro T20 League after both the teams registered victories in their respective semifinal matches at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday. The final will be played at the Eden Gardens on Friday.

Earlier in the first semifinal, riding on a brilliant all-round performance, Sobisco Smashers Malda outclassed Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers by 6 wickets.

Mukesh Kumar (5-23) led from the front with a superb bowling effort while Writtick Chatterjee bagged 2 for 26 followed by a match-winning unbeaten 50 off 41 balls to steer Sobisco Smashers Malda to a comfortable victory.

Batting first, Lux Shyam Kolkata Tigers managed to post 105/9 in 20 overs. In reply, Sobisco Smashers Malda went over the line, scoring 109/4 in 16.3 overs.

In the second semifinal, Murshidabad Kings edged past Rashmi Medinipur Wizards by 5 wickets.

Batting first, Rashmi Medinipur Wizards posted 144/6 in 20 overs. Priyanshu Srivastav (44) and Wriddhiman Saha (32) were the pick of the batsmen. Sukhmeet Singh bagged two wickets for Murshidabad Kings.

In reply, chasing the target, Murshidabad Kings went over the line comfortably, scoring 145/5 in 18.5 overs. Koushik Ghosh (45), Agniv Pan (20) impressed with the bat for Murshidabad Kings as they chased down the target.
