Bengal Pro T20 League, Siliguri Strikers Squad: Akash Deep and Priyanka Bala roped in as Marquee Players

Servotech Siliguri Strikers, the northernmost franchise of the Bengal Pro T20 League, has announced their squad for the inaugural season.

The Bengal Pro T20 League is gearing up for an intense season with the Servotech Siliguri Strikers as one of the eight franchises. The team has been formed following a comprehensive selection process in Kolkata, emphasizing a blend of seasoned players and emerging talents.

Siliguri Strikers will represent the Northern part of Bengal in the T20 league, as it will represent the districts of Darjeeling, Jalpaiguri, Coochbehar and Alipurduar.

Akash Deep and Priyanka Bala - The Marquee Players

Akash Deep Singh has been appointed as the marquee player of the men's team, while Priyanka Bala chosen as the captain of the women's team. Ritwik Roy Chowdhury will captain the Strikers in the inaugural season.

Akash Deep comes with an impressive background, including stints with RCB in IPL 2024 and the Indian Test team, while Priyanka Bala has showcased her skills with the Mumbai Indians in the WPL 2024.

At the heart of the Strikers' strategy is a wide age range among the players, from the young 18-year-old Yudhajit Guha to the experienced 40-year-old Rajkumar Pal. Suraj Sindhu Jaiswal, the emerging pacer of Bengal has also been included, whereas Ritwik Roy Chowdhury is another experienced Bengal player in the squad.

Additionally, the franchise has confirmed its coaching staff, with Saurasish Lahiri and Sanjib Kumar Goel leading the men's team, and Arpita Ghosh and Pamela Dhar for the women's team.

Lahiri, who is among the coaching staff of the Bengal senior team, will be coming with his vast experience as the Siliguri side aim to make a mark in the tournament.

Rishabh Bhatia, the owner of the Siliguri Strikers, expressed excitement over the team's draft picks. "Our teams for both the men's and women's categories are balanced with a great mix of youth and experience," he stated, highlighting the franchise's aim to deliver top-quality cricket to fans in Siliguri and beyond.
