Bengaluru Test: Indian players travel in ambulance to reach hotel

Posted By:

Bengaluru, Nov 18: Some of the Indian players were in an ambulance at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium here after the conclusion of the 2nd Test against South Africa today. However, the cricketers were not injured and only took the ambulance to reach the team hotel from the ground.

As rain played spoilsport for 4 days in a row, the Test match ended in a draw. India hold a 1-0 lead in the 4-match series against the Proteas. As the match concluded on Wednesday (November 18), most of the Virat Kohli-led side left the stadium in the official team bus. But some of the players stayed back to have a hit in the nets.

As the bus carrying the Indian team had already left the stadium, Shikhar Dhawan, KL Rahul, Stuart Binny and batting coach Sanjay Bangar did not wait for the bus to return and hopped onto the ambulance which was parked in the stadium.

The quartet took a ride in the ambulance with Binny occupying the seat next to the driver. The trio of Dhawan, Rahul and Bangar gave him company in the back seat and safely reached the five-star hotel which is not far away from the Chinnaswamy Stadium. Both Binny and Rahul are local boys.

The third Test starts in Nagpur on November 25.
