Left-arm spinner Swapnil Singh opened the proceedings for RCB and gave away just one run in the first over. Mohammed Siraj came to bowl the second over, and ended up picking a wicket by conceding just two runs including a wide.

Faf du Plessis introduced Yash Dayal in the third over. GT batters Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan could collect only four runs against the young pacer. Mohammed Siraj returned for the fourth over and dismissed Gill in the seven-run over which ended with the first boundary of the match.

Yash Dayal bowled another four-run over before Cameron came into the attack to bowl the sixth and final over of the Powerplay. The Australia pacer leaked five runs and took the wicket of Sai Sudharsan. David Miller hit a boundary on the final delivery, as GT scorecard read 23/3 in six overs at a run rate of 3.83.
Gujarat Titans were bundled out for 147 in 19.3 overs. Later, Yash Dayal and Vijaykumar Vyshak also picked two wickets each. Leg-spinner Karn Sharma also picked a wicket in the form of Miller.
