Beth Mooney Reaches ICC Ranking Summit After Winning POTM In T20 WC Final

Australian opening batswoman who played a commanding role with her bat (64 off 49) in her team's ascent towards a 7th T20 title has reached the summit of Batting Rankings after winning the Player of the Tournament award in the ICC Women's T20 World Cup 2026.

Australia wicketkeeper-batter Beth Mooney has reclaimed the No. 1 spot in the ICC Women's T20I batting rankings after her outstanding performances at the Women's T20 World Cup. Mooney, who was also named Player of the Tournament when Australia hosted the competition in 2020, has replaced team-mate Georgia Voll, who had held the top ranking since 23 March this year.

Mooney capped off the tournament with a match-winning 64 off 49 balls in Australia's seven-wicket victory over England in the final at Lord's, earning the Player of the Match award. She finished as Australia's leading run-scorer with 238 runs in the tournament and began her fifth spell as the world's top-ranked T20I batter. Among Australian batters, only Karen Rolton has spent more time at No. 1, with Mooney having held the position for over four years in total.

Tazmin Brits Jumps Three Places After Semifinal Fifty

South Africa opener Tazmin Brits has climbed three places to 11th in the latest ICC Women's T20I batting rankings after her knock of 51 in the semifinal against England at The Oval. England captain Nat Sciver-Brunt has also made significant gains, rising five places to 16th following scores of 75 in the semifinal and an unbeaten 58 in the final. Meanwhile, Freya Kemp's unbeaten 44 in the title clash has propelled her up 27 places to 63rd.

In the bowling rankings, India's left-arm spinner Shree Charani continues to hold the No. 1 position. England's Sophie Ecclestone has moved up to second, overtaking team-mate Charlie Dean after claiming a wicket each in the semifinal and final.

Australia all-rounder Kim Garth has jumped five places to 15th after an economical spell in the final, while South Africa's Marizanne Kapp has returned to the top 10 thanks to her impressive semifinal performance. Other notable movers include Australia's Ash Gardner, who has risen two places to 20th, Sophie Molineux, who has surged 21 spots to 66th, and South Africa's Shabnim Ismail, who has climbed 29 places to 69th.
