Big Bash Draft 2024: All Eight Teams Picks & Squads After BBL 14 Draft

The Big Bash Draft 2024 in Melbourne on Sunday (September 1) continued with the picks and retentions for the KFC Big Bash League season 14 - BBL 14 as eight teams got the opportunity to add to their squads.

The eight teams - Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder - made additions to their squads for BBL 14, which is slated to be held from December 1 to December 15, 2024 to January 27, 2025.

In round 1 (platinum only), Melbourne Stars used pick 1 on England batter Ben Duckett, while Sydney Sixers retained James Vince after Melbourne Renegades used pick 2 on the England batter. Renegades then used pick 3 on England batter Laurie Evans.

Lockie Ferguson was picked by Sydney Thunder, Shai Hope was picked by Hobart Hurricans, Adelaide Strikers then used pick 6 on England all-rounder Jamie Overton. Brisbane Heat and Perth Scorchers used their picks on pre-selection players Colin Munro and Finn Allen respectively.

In round 2 (platinum & gold picks), Stars used their pick on pre-selection player Tom Curran. Similarly, Strikers, Hurricanes, Thunder and Sixers used their picks on pre-selection player Ollie Pope, Chris Jordan, Sam Billings and Akeal Hosein respectively.

Renegades drafted in Jacob Bethell and Heat picked Paul Walter as their pick, while Perth Scorchers passed on their pick. In round 3 (gold & silver picks), Sixers, Heat and Hurricanes passed their picks as Scorchers picked Matthew Hurst, and Strikers picked Fabian Allen.

Meanwhile Thunder drafted in West Indies all-rounder Sherfane Rutherford, Renegades used their pick on pre-selection player Tim Seifert and Stars picked Pakistan spinner Usama Mir to conclude round 3.

In round 4 (silver & bronze picks), Stars, Renegades, Strikers and Thunder passed their picks, while Hurricanes picked Rishad Hossain, Heat drafted in Tom Aslop, Sixer chose Jafer Chohan, and Scorchers drafted in Keaton Jennings.
