Big Bash Draft 2024: All Teams Picks & Squads After WBBL 10 Draft

The Big Bash Draft 2024 in Melbourne on Sunday (September 1) kicked off with picks and retentions for the Women's Big Bash League season 10 - WBBL 10 as all eight teams looked to finalize their squads for the upcoming edition.

The eight teams - Adelaide Strikers, Brisbane Heat, Hobart Hurricanes, Melbourne Renegades, Melbourne Stars, Perth Scorchers, Sydney Sixers and Sydney Thunder - assembled their squads for WBBL 10, which is scheduled to be held from October 27 to December 1.

WBBL 10 Draft Picks and Squads

In round 1 (Platinum only), Hurricanes tried and failed in their first pick as Sixers retained England spinner Sophie Ecclestone, while Thunder retained England captain Heather Knight, and Strikers retained South Africa skipper Laura Wolvaardt.

Hurricanes finally made their pick when England batter Danni Wyatt after Perth Scorchers opted not to retain her for the next edition. West Indies star Deandra Dottin was Melbourne Renegades' first pick.

Indian duo Deepti Sharma and Jemimah Rodrigues were picked by Melbourne Stars and Brisbane Heat respectively, while Perth Scorchers used pick 8, the last pick in the opening round, on the pre-selection player Sophie Devine of New Zealand.

In round 2 (Platinum & Gold), Hurricanes opted for South African all-rounder Chloe Tryon as their pick, while Sydney Sixers used pick 10 on the pre-selection player Amelia Kerr. Hayley Matthews joined her West Indies compatriot as the next pick for Melbourne Renegades.

Melbourne Stars used pick 12 on the pre-selection player Marizanne Kapp of South Africa, while Indian pacer Shikha Pandey was picked by Brisbane Heat, uniting with her compatriot Rodrigues. Strikers passed their pick in round 2.

In round 3 (Gold & Silver), India's Hemalatha Dayalan was the first pick by Perth Scorchers, while Brisbane Heat and Sixers passed their picks. Melbourne Renegades picked England all-rounder Alice Capsey. Sydney Thunder used pick 19 on the pre-selection player Chamari Athapaththu.

Indian wicketkeeper-batter Yastika Bhatia was Melbourne Stars' next pick as Adelaide Strikers used their pick on pre-selection player Smriti Mandhana of India. Hobart Hurricanes used their next pick on pre-selection player Lizelle Lee of South Africa.

In round 4 (Silver & Bronze), Hurricanes, Stars and Renegades passed their picks, while Ireland all-rounder Orla Prendergast was Strikers' pick, Sixers picked England all-rounder Hollie Armitage and the Thunder picked England's Georgia Adams.

Brisbane Heat drafted in South Africa all-rounder Nadine de Klerk as their final pick as Perth Scorchers passed on their pick to conclude the WBBL Draft 2024. Here is a look at the draft picks and squads of all 8 WBBL teams:
