In a major development that has cast a shadow over Royal Challengers Bengaluru's recent IPL triumph, pacer Yash Dayal has been booked under Section 69 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) following allegations of sexual harassment.
The case has been registered at the Indirapuram police station after a detailed preliminary inquiry based on a complaint submitted via the Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister's grievance redressal platform, IGRS.

Section 69 of the BNS pertains to cases involving sexual relations established on false promises of marriage, where the accused allegedly never intended to fulfil such commitments. According to the woman's complaint, she was involved in a five-year-long relationship with the cricketer during which she claims to have been emotionally and physically exploited under the guise of future marriage.
The woman alleged that Yash had not only introduced her to his family but also led her to believe she would soon be a part of it as per The Indian Express. "He repeatedly made physical relations with me by falsely promising marriage and introduced me to his family, who assured that I would be their daughter-in-law. I maintained the relationship with complete honesty and dedication," she stated in her complaint.
She further claimed that Dayal had borrowed money from her and that similar allegations from other women suggest a repeated pattern of deceit. When she questioned his conduct and suspected infidelity, she said he resorted to emotional manipulation and physical violence.
The woman, distressed by the alleged betrayal, said she has suffered immensely. "I tried to end my life many times because I couldn't get out of the mental pain, and he and his family kept giving me false assurances. His relationship with other women caused me deep mental trauma and broke me down," she added.
The Ghaziabad police have confirmed that an FIR has been filed and that the investigation is underway. Authorities have said that action will follow once sufficient evidence is gathered to support the charges.
Yash Dayal, who played a crucial role in RCB's maiden IPL title win in 2025, now finds his future uncertain as legal proceedings gather pace.
