BJP leder requests ICC to reconsider match shift decision

Kolkata, Feb 1 (PTI) BJP national spokesperson ShahnawazHussain today appealed to the International Cricket Council toreconsider its decision to shift the India-England World Cupcricket match from the Eden Gardens, keeping in mind theinterests of crores of cricket fans in the entire easternregion.

"It is a matter of shame that Eden Gardens would not behosting the match. The cricket lovers not only in Kolkata butalso in the entire eastern region should not be deprived ofthe opportunity to see the match for no fault of theirs," hetold reporters.

The BJP leader, who hails from Bihar, said that the ICCand BCCI would take note of the emotions of the people ofeastern region who are greatly disappointed at the match beingshifted.

Asked if he wanted the CAB president Jagmohan Dalmiya toquit in the aftermath of the match fiasco , he said, "Allthose responsible for it should quit."

To another question whether the CAB and BCCI tussle hadled to the shifting of the match from here to Bangalore, hesaid, "Cricket fans in the eastern region should not be thevictims of politics whatsoever." PTI PKC MD
