Bombay HC leaves Lalit Modi to face BCCI fury

Mumbai, Jul 15: In his ongoing fight against the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), Lalit Modi suffered a huge bungle as the Bombay High Court has refused to save him from the disciplinary proceedings launched against him by the cricket governing body.

The High Court on Thursday, Jul 15 directed the suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) commissioner to appear before the BCCI Disciplinary Committee on Friday, Jul 16.

Modi had sought a stay on the BCCI summons and pleaded for an independent panel to hear his case as he said that the members of disciplinary Committee, Arun Jaitley, Jyotiraditya Scindia and Chirayu Amin, were 'biased'.

Modi who was suspended on Apr 25 is likely to be sacked as the IPL commissioner. He is also expected to face strict disciplinary action.
