The highly anticipated Border-Gavaskar Trophy is set to kick off on November 22 in Perth, with India taking on Australia in what could play a huge role in which two teams will reach the World Test Championship (WTC) Final 2025.
While the absence of regular skipper Rohit Sharma, might seem like a setback, Jasprit Bumrah is stepping in as captain, adding a fresh dynamic to the team. Bumrah will take lead India against a team led by fellow pacer Pat Cummins in the series opener.

Rohit is expected to resume his role from the second Test, a day-night contest, which is set to take place under lights at Adelaide Oval from December 6 to 10. The action will then shift to The Gabba in Brisbane for the third Test from December 14 to 18.
The traditional Boxing Day Test, scheduled from December 26 to 30 at Melbourne's iconic Melbourne Cricket Ground, will mark the series' penultimate stage. The fifth and final Test will be held at the Sydney Cricket Ground from January 3 to 7, promising an exciting climax to a highly anticipated series.
The high-voltage clash will see some top voices call the game from the commentary boxes across networks. The commentary panel is as expected a star-studded one with Sunil Gavaskar and Allan Border among former cricketers, featuring in the commentators list.
Former Australia opener David Warner, who retired earlier this year, will also continue in his role of a commentator for Fox Cricket. Plus, there is also reports of Indian batter Cheteshwar Pujara also likely to don a new role as a Hindi commentator for Star Sports.
Star Sports, the official broadcaster in India, has revealed their commentary panel only for the first Test, featuring some of the prominent names, including the ones doing the job for Fox Cricket and Channel Seven.
