DURBAN, South Africa, Oct 9 (Reuters) Off-spinner Johan Botha was among five players added to South Africa's squad today for this month's one-day series in Pakistan.
Botha, 25, last played for South Africa in a one-day international against Sri Lanka in Hobart in February, 2006.
He had been called for throwing on his test debut against Australia in Sydney the previous month and the International Cricket Council twice banned his bowling action before clearing him in November.
''Johan Botha will provide the specialist spin option and, of course, he also gives us an additional all-rounder,'' selection convenor Joubert Strydom was quoted as saying in a Cricket South Africa media release.
The other players called into the squad by South Africa, who are currently engaged in the second test against Pakistan in Lahore, are all-rounders Justin Kemp and Albie Morkel and fast bowlers Vernon Philander and Charl Langeveldt.
The players who will return home after the test series are batsmen Hashim Amla and Ashwell Prince, left-arm spinner Paul Harris and fast bowlers Morne Morkel and Dale Steyn.
Pakistan and South Africa will play five one-day internationals from October 18 to 29.
South Africa squad: Graeme Smith (captain), Johan Botha, Mark Boucher, AB de Villiers, JP Duminy, Herschelle Gibbs, Jacques Kallis, Justin Kemp, Charl Langeveldt, Albie Morkel, Andre Nel, Makhaya Ntini, Vernon Philander, Shaun Pollock.
