The BPL 2025 Final award ceremony has begun with a laser light show paying homage to the recent student movement in Bangladesh that toppled the government in the country!

In a breathtaking final at the Shere Bangla National Stadium, Fortune Barishal emerged victorious against Chittagong Kings by three wickets, clinching the Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) 2025 title in dramatic fashion. Chasing 195, Barishal sealed the win in the last over, thanks to a stunning cameo from Rishad Hossain.

Opting to bowl first, Fortune Barishal saw Chittagong Kings post a formidable 194/3, powered by Parvez Hossain Emon's unbeaten 78 and Khawaja Nafay's 66. Mohammed Ali was the only Barishal bowler to pick up a wicket, finishing with 1/21. The chase started with a bang as Tamim Iqbal played a captain's knock, smashing 54 off 29 balls, while Towhid Hridoy contributed 32 runs. The opening stand gave Barishal the ideal foundation, but wickets at crucial junctures kept Chittagong in the contest.

Shoriful Islam turned the game momentarily in Chittagong's favor with a stellar spell, claiming 4/34. His breakthroughs, including the dismissals of Tamim Iqbal, Dawid Malan (1), and Mahmudullah (7), created panic in the Barishal camp. Kyle Mayers, however, provided stability with a crucial 46 off 28 balls, smashing sixes at key moments to keep the chase alive.

With 25 needed off 18 balls, Mayers fell, handing Chittagong another opportunity. Mohammad Nabi (10) followed suit, leaving Barishal needing 8 off the final over. Rishad Hossain then stole the show, hammering a six off Hussain Talat before finishing the game with three balls to spare. His unbeaten 18 off just a few deliveries proved decisive as Fortune Barishal completed a remarkable chase.

Earlier, Chittagong's innings was driven by a measured approach from Emon and Nafay, ensuring their side had a competitive total. However, the slow over-rate penalty in the final over left them vulnerable in the dying moments.

Barishal's triumph was met with jubilant celebrations from their fans, who had filled the stands in large numbers. This victory marked another milestone for the franchise, showcasing their resilience and ability to hold their nerve in high-pressure situations.

As the players lifted the trophy, the night belonged to Fortune Barishal, whose collective performance and clutch moments ensured a thrilling end to the BPL 2025 season.
