BPL 2025 Final: Fortune Barishal successfully defended their Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) title in dramatic fashion, edging past Chittagong Kings by three wickets in a high-stakes final at the Shere Bangla National Stadium in Dhaka on February 7.
A tense chase saw Barishal emerge victorious with just three balls to spare, securing their second consecutive championship in front of an electric crowd.

Opting to bowl first, Fortune Barishal faced a dominant batting display from Chittagong Kings. Parvez Hossain Emon led the charge with an unbeaten 78, while Khawaja Nafay played a vital supporting role with 66. Despite their efforts, Chittagong could only manage 194/3, with Barishal's Mohammad Ali standing out with an economical spell of 1/21.
In response, Tamim Iqbal set the tone for the chase with a sublime 54 off 29 balls, while Kyle Mayers' 46 kept the scoreboard ticking. However, Chittagong's Shoriful Islam brought them back into the contest with an outstanding 4/34, triggering a collapse that left Barishal needing 20 runs from the last two overs.
With the game hanging in the balance, Rishad Hossain stepped up with a decisive six off Hussain Talat in the final over. Despite losing key wickets, Barishal edged closer, eventually clinching victory as a wide delivery sealed their fate, leading to euphoric celebrations among their fans.
Tamim Iqbal's match-winning knock earned him the Player of the Match award, reinforcing his status as a key performer. Meanwhile, Mehidy Hasan Miraz of Khulna Tigers was named Player of the Tournament for his consistent all-round efforts. Other notable awardees included Mushfiqur Rahim, who secured the Fielder of the Tournament award with 14 dismissals, and Tanzid Hassan, who claimed the Emerging Player honor. Mohammad Naim (511 runs) and Taskin Ahmed (25 wickets) finished as the tournament's top run-scorer and wicket-taker, respectively.
