
BCCI chief selector Chetan Sharma has resigned from his post on Friday (February 17) after his sting operation controversy.
Chetan Sharma was part of a sting operation conducted by a TV channel recently where he allegedly revealed many classified information and revealed many controversial details of team selection.
And now the former Indian cricketer, who was at the helm of the Indian selection committee, has decided to step down from his post.
Chetan Sharma sent his resignation to BCCI secretary Jay Shah, which has been accepted by the apex body of Indian cricket. It is also being reported that BCCI wanted to give the former chief selector a chance to explain after the sting operation fiasco, but he has chosen to step down.
It shocked the entire nation when some top-secret Indian team information was leaked by Chetan Sharma recently, as a part of a sting operation. He made allegations like cricketers use secret injections to stay fit, which evades the dope test screening.
He also revealed the captaincy selection of the Indian team where he elaborated on the ego clash between Virat Kohli and former BCCI president Sourav Ganguly.
Chetan was serving his second stint as the chief selector of India after most of his former selection committee team was ousted recently. The Cricket Advisory Committee kept Chetan Sharma as the chief selector while all other selectors were shown the door.
